CAPTAINS CREEK ORGANIC FARM
Five generations of the May family have run the 80 hectare farm for more than 100 years since 1909. Rod started the transition to organic farming in the 1980s.
We have since established tree-crops of chestnuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, and apples, plus native trees and shrubs to provide shade and shelter for livestock. Further diversification into potatoes, carrots, beetroot, parsnip, sweet corn, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbages, lettuce, plums and much more has occurred on a seasonal basis.
A great place to have a meal, pizza or even just a glass of wine. You might even get busy and have a kick of the soccer ball!
I love getting my boxes each week as I get creative with my veggies to make sure I use them all up! This week I have a party tomorrow so decided to use my beets in a sweet treat. Thanks farmer rod and crew for your amazing organics each week!
